Meta Horizon OS
Meta Horizon OS is the operating system that powers Meta Quest headsets and is being opened to partner OEMs as a shared XR runtime.
Horizon OS is the highest-volume XR runtime in the world. Analytics for Horizon OS apps need to cover App Lab, the Meta Quest Store and sideload distribution, and must handle Quest 2 through Quest Pro device variance.
Horizon OS analytics must also respect Meta's user data policies — no facial data, no eye-tracking without explicit intent, no capture of personally identifying information without disclosure. Compliance is not optional; it is part of the store review process.
Why it matters
For any studio publishing on Meta Quest — the largest install base in XR — Horizon OS is the deployment target that determines discovery, monetisation and review outcomes. Store-review-safe analytics is what allows a studio to instrument the experience deeply without triggering rejections.

A fitness app ships on the Meta Quest Store. The analytics SDK captures comfort, completion and session length without triggering the store review's automated privacy checks, because it never touches raw camera, eye or biometric streams.
