    XR Analytics

    XR analytics is the practice of measuring and interpreting user behavior inside extended-reality experiences — VR, AR and MR — using spatial telemetry instead of clicks or page views.

    Unlike traditional product analytics, XR analytics works in three-dimensional space. It captures where users look, how they move, where they hesitate, and which interactions actually happen inside an immersive scene. The output is usually a mix of spatial heatmaps, behavior signals and aggregated session insights.

    XR analytics platforms sit between the engine (Unity, Unreal, WebXR) and the product team. They normalise telemetry across headsets and runtimes, so that behaviour recorded on Meta Quest, Android XR, visionOS or a WebXR browser can be compared inside a single dashboard without per-device engineering work.

    Why it matters

    In XR, the two questions that decide whether a product ships or gets scrapped — 'did users understand the space?' and 'was it comfortable?' — cannot be answered with clicks and events. XR analytics is the layer that lets designers, QA teams and executives answer those questions with evidence rather than intuition, which is why VR training vendors, LBE operators and immersive studios treat it as a required part of their measurement stack.

    Example

    A VR onboarding scene reports 78% completion in traditional analytics — apparently healthy. XR analytics reveals that 45% of users spent more than 12 seconds looking at the wrong wall before finding the first affordance. The completion metric hid a spatial UX problem that only spatial telemetry surfaces.
